So, it’s finally summertime! School’s out (except for you unlucky summer-schoolers) and it’s time for fun in the sun. …Except for us.

Some changes are afoot around here at dyo, and we’d like to get you informed of them! The first of these changes may be a bit of a doozy for some of you, and I know there’ll be at least one or two of you who’ll be all angry and such. Next month, our channel will be moving to a different IRC network.

We talked about this for a while, and, due to certain events and actions of certain people, we eventually reached the decision to move – it wasn’t simply a decision made with no forethought or no reason. Starting July 2nd, the official home of #dyo will be on the synIRC IRC network. Those of you who decide not to come, we’d just like to let you know we’ll miss you, and hopefully you’ll find better times elsewhere. For those of you who decide to come, we’ll be waiting with open arms. Party!

Another change coming soon is that we might actually get some regular posting on the blog! It’s been sitting here for months without doing much other than collecting dust, but things are happening. Hopefully I’ll have some more news for you on that topic soon.

The restructuring changes have been made. Thanks to everyone for their cooperation!

We recently decided to restructure the #dyo access list. On Wednesday, February 6, the access list will be replaced by the following list:

SOP: Katori, Terusama, Erik_Destler
AOP: antgeth, Final, Miria, Satoshi-kun, Zeeky
HOP: Asci, Ceceil, darkgamerGS, FullMasta, Mike, Muhed

In addition, from this point forward, we will stop giving autovoice (VOP) to all users. In addition to the users that were removed to the AOP and HOP lists, the following users will get VOP:

VOP: All users removed from AOP and HOP, Ice_Rabbit, J, MisterCow, square-kun, Xboxster, Entei, PPN, fr3quency, Aeris, Babz, CaptKirby, n2, Refia, nagrom

MacHeist II… I’ve been waiting for this for months. Actually, a year. But it’s finally here. Oh, man, have I been waiting.

Now, how will this affect all of you? Well, it simply means I’ll be in #dyo less, as I have op duty on MacHeist’s IRC channel.

MacHeist is fun even if you don’t have a Mac – although the rewards are Mac-only shareware programs, the puzzles are still very, very fun, so go try it out!

So, it’s almost December! Christmas is rapidly approaching. This means that, well, I need to get my christmas shopping done. However, for you guys, I’ve got my work cut out for me. Why, you ask?

We recorded a short one Saturday night. To put it bluntly, it was crap, horribly unfunny, and basically did nothing except let the people in the cast see the new website early. (Mike did play guitar, though, so it all evened out.) However, I think this means that, since it’s just not good enough, we’re not gonna post it. I won’t go through the bother of editing it further.
