Chat

Our IRC channel, #dyo, is hosted on synIRC. For more information on their ports and servers, visit synIRC.net.

If you don’t have an IRC client, get one! mIRC is a popular one for Windows, X-Chat is wonderful on Linux and UNIX variants, and Colloquy is the simplest way to get on from a Mac.

If you do have an IRC client, you can simply click on the big “Chat” link at the very top of the page to join the channel! Happy chatting!

For those of you who want to set up your auto-connect and auto-join info:

The server is irc.synirc.net for a round robin (or irc.dyo-ecksdee.com, if you prefer).

Many ports are available between synIRC’s servers, but 6667 is available for all servers as a regular port, and 7001 works on all servers for SSL. All servers also have at least 6660-6669 open.

The channel is #dyo.

For SSL, you’ll need to accept invalid certificates. (If you don’t know what this means, you can ask for help in the channel.)

If you ever need help from an IRCop, join #help.

None of us (us being the #dyo admins) are IRCops on that server, however, so we may not always be able to solve your problems. #help is the best way to go if you have a problem that’s not strictly #dyo related.

And, most importantly, have fun!
