Four Zelda games in 48 hours? Madness!

…Well, yeah, they didn’t make it in 48 hours, but… well, it was still cool watching them! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, then you haven’t been paying attention to the intertubes. A few weeks ago, Cameron Banga and a few of his friends decided to get together and play Zelda. Specifically, they decided to play all four 3D Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess). They put up a webcam to document their progress and asked for donations, some of which would go to buying them a pizza and the rest would go to Child’s Play, which if you don’t know, is Penny-Arcade’s charity that goes to help give the gift of gaming to children in hospitals or something like that. They raised over $1,200. For the past two weeks, they’ve gone back and beaten Twilight Princess, and most recently played Paper Mario thanks to the Virtual Console and an, as they called it, very generous donation by yours truly.

This has made me realize… hey, I did something cool for hundreds of people I don’t even know, and all it cost was ten dollars! Money goes a long way these days. Since that original donation, I’ve also sent them F-Zero X (Cameron says that he’s looking forward to schooling his roommates, some of which have never played it). Next week, they’ll apparently be doing Resident Evil 4. Not my favorite game, but I might tune in nonetheless.

Anyway, be sure to tune in to that. I believe that it’ll be starting at noon CST on Saturday, so be sure to watch! They’re going to be competing with other teams this time around to see who can beat it fastest, and the winner gets a brand new copy of No More Heroes.

Okay! So, other news, right? Right!

We’re going to be opening up signups for posting on the blog soon. You’ll be able to register, and you’ll be expected to make at least one post a week. (I’ll try my best to make sure all the admins do so as well. That includes me, huh?) We really want a nice, fresh stream of content here, so hopefully we can get something like that going!

That’s mainly it for now. I’ll probably make some kind of ranty, emotional, nostalgic post later on, as I’ve been thinking about the past a bit more recently. I’ve been pretty down recently, pretty tired, my grades are slacking off, I’m gaining weight, blah blah blah. The type of stuff that none of you really want to hear… basically, I really need to turn my life around, but I have no idea how. I mean, even 4 months ago, life was way better than it is now. I’ve been thinking about the past a lot… I’ve lost a lot of friendships with people I admired, and when I go back and think about how these people are doing, it just makes it harder. I want to go say hi to them again, ask them how they’re doing… hopefully they’d be doing better than I am right now. I think that I really just don’t trust people enough anymore. I mean, really, I only know two people that aren’t a member of my family that I could trust with my life. One of those is hundreds of miles away, and the other is way too hyperactive for his own good. Not that that’s a bad thing, but when you’re expecting actual emotional support, comfort and trust, it’s kinda hard to get.

I think I might continue on that later.
